Greenhope Sponsors the 11th Annual
Community Resource, Education & Career Fair
Co-Sponsored by Senator Bill Perkins, 30th Senatorial District
September 17, 2008
Greenhope clients and members of the community participated in
the 11th Annual Community, Resource & Education Fair on September
17, 2008. The event, which took place at the Adam Clayton Powell,
Jr. Harlem State office building, serves annually to connect residents
with employers, and to provide information about jobs, education
and training programs, and other community resources. The free
event has in the past attracted between 300-600 participants.
The culmination of Greenhope’s Vocational and Educational
Programs, the career fair prepares clients to re-enter the world
of work through its job-readiness activities and to further their
education by earning a GED and attending college. The Annual Career
Fair is a showcase of the successful partnerships that Greenhope
has fostered with vocational service providers throughout the
city.
Over the years, many of Greenhope’s clients have found
employment at the Career Fair. One such client, who has since
been promoted to a supervisory position, in turn hired four recent
Greenhope graduates. It is success stories like these that feed
Greenhope’s continued commitment to the Annual Career Fair,
bringing the dignity of work to clients and to participants from
all around New York City.
