On Friday May 29, 2009 Greenhope celebrated its Twelfth Annual
Client Graduation, “The Paradigm of Healing”, which
was an amazing display of human courage, determination, and success.
This year’s featured guest speaker was Senator Velmanette
Montgomery of New York State’s 18th Senate District. Dr.
Anne R. Elliott, presented Assemblyman Jeffrion L. Aubry of New
York State’s 35th Assembly district, with an award for his
monumental and historical achievement of reforming the Rockefeller
Drug Laws which were signed into legislation in April 2009.
Greenhope’s annual graduation celebration is the culmination
of behavioral counseling and self-awareness work that the clients
have undergone in the past year in order to reclaim their lives.
It is a poignant gathering where clients are awarded certificates
of completion in the presence of family members, staff, funders,
elected officials and Greenhope supporters.
The event was held at Canaan Baptist Church which is located
at 132 West 116th Street between Lenox and Seventh Avenues.
