Tenth Annual Greenhope Services for Women, Inc. Career, Education and Community Resource Fair
Greenhope sponsored its Tenth Annual Greenhope Career, Education, and Community
Resource Fair on Friday, September 7, 2007. The event was held at the Holy
Rosary Church located at 444 East 119th Street, between First and Pleasant
Avenues in Manhattan.
Fifty-eight (58) participating organizations representing employers, training
and education programs, and other community program were in attendance. The
event drew many participants from the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens.
The office of Assemblyman Adam Clayton Powell IV’s office was also represented.
Some of the companies and organizations which attended included Avon Products
Inc., Greyhound, MTA, STRIVE, Americorps, Lifespire, Streetwise Partners, DOVE,
The College Initiative, The Women’s Center for Education and Career Advancement,
The City of New York/ Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications
(ACCESS NYC), and the NYS Troopers. The Verizon Technology Education Center
generously donated gift bags for all of the participants.
Participants walked away from the event with job interviews and plenty of
resources. One participant remarked that it was “nice that there was
so much information for women.” Many asked to be invited to next year’s
event.
